The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the outgoing week (23–27 November) on a positive note, with key indices and turnover posting strong gains. As a result, the DSE’s market capitalization increased by Tk 10,339 crore over the week, according to the weekly market update.
By the last trading day of the week, DSE’s total market capitalization stood at Tk 6,92,133 crore, up from Tk 6,81,794 crore the previous week. This reflects a weekly rise of 1.52%.
All major index of the premier bourse also ended higher. The benchmark index DSEX advanced 159.13 points or 3.27%, while the DS30 index gained 56.34 points or 3%. The DSES index rose 38.56 points, marking a 3.79% increase.
Turnover on the DSE also saw a notable improvement. The week’s total turnover reached Tk 2,625.57 crore, up from Tk 1,987.67 crore the week before—an increase of Tk 637.90 crore.
Average daily turnover rose 32.09%, climbing to Tk 525.11 crore from the previous week’s average of Tk 397.53 crore.
During the week, shares and mutual fund units of 379 companies were traded on the DSE. Of these, 335 saw price increases, 32 declined, and the prices of 12 remained unchanged.
