Chile cheers long service of her H. Consul in Bangladesh

BM Desk
The Republic of Chile has acknowledged remarkable service, for a quarter of century, of her Honorary Consul in Bangladesh, Asif A. Chowdhury. H. E. Juan Angulo, the Chilean Ambassador to India, concurrently accredited to Bangladesh, hosted a ceremony recently at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi to honor Chowdhury.
Acknowledging Chowdhury’s 25 years of remarkable service in strengthening ties between Chile and Bangladesh, Juan emphasized the significance of Chowdhury’s dedication in fostering diplomatic, cultural, and economic connections between the two nations. He also handed over a Consular Certificate to Chowdhury for his unwavering dedication.
Earlier in 2014, Chowdhury received the Bernard O’Higgins Award, the highest Chilean Civilian Distinction given to a foreign national by the President of the Republic of Chile, for his contributions and two-decade-long commitment to the areas of international business and trade.
An honored personality in Bangladesh’s business community, Chowdhury has businesses in shipping, stock and diverse sectors.
