Business tycoons worry over covid-19 ; cry for better hospital

Business tycoons, elites, civil society members who usually receives health service abroad are in serious worry as many of the class members infected with Coronavirus and some passes away.

Many of them grieved that why shall not they invested a full-fledged hospital so that they treated here in international standard.

“One of our director moaned that why shouldn’t we built a big hospital here in Banshkhali,” a manager of S Alam group told Business Mirror preferring anonymity.

National Professor Anisuzzaman has died during treatment at Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital  at the age of 83 with Coronavirus positve.

Prof Anisuzzaman a recipient of the Bangla Academy award for research (1970) and the Ekushey Padak, the second-highest civilian award in Bangladesh, for his contribution to education had experienced minimum presence in his Janaza for virus fear.

NRB Global Bank and S Alam Group’s Director Morshedul Alam (65) died of Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of Chattogram General Hospital last night.

Morshedul Alam, one of the richest man in the contemporary history and director of the top influential group has died at like other general people.

Former Awami League lawmaker, Founder of Samarita Hospital and Sandhani Life Insurance  Haji Mokbul Hossain has passed away after being infected with coronavirus (COVID-19).

Mokbul Hossain died at 9:00pm on Sunday at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) while undergoing treatment.   Mokbul, a Member of the Parliament (MP) from Dhanmondi-Mohammadpur constituency from 1996-2001, was a member of the Awami League Central Advisory Council.

Niloufer Manzur, wife of Apex Group Chairman Syed Manzur Elahi, has died from the novel coronavirus Tuesday. She was the founder and principal of Sunbeams School.  Niloufer Manzur established Sunbeams, a private English medium institution, in 1974.

Meanwhile, Apex Group Chairman and entrepreneur of many successful business venture Syed Manzur Elahi has also been tested positive for Covid-19.

Besides, Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury has tested positive for Covid-19, was currently in isolation in a room at his Dhanmondi residence.

However, Kutubuddin Ahmed, the founder and chairman of the Envoy Group, has been diagnosed positive with the novel coronavirus. He was admitted at Square Hospital on Saturday.

A vice-chairman of S Alam Group, one of the leading conglomerates of Bangladesh, and five other members of the family have tested positive for COVID-19.

The five infected brothers are S Alam Group Vice-Chairman and Al-Arafah Islami Bank Chairman Abdus Samad,  S Alam Group directors Rashedul Alam, Shahidul Alam and Osman Ghani.
