The chief guest Professor Dr. Engineer Rashid Ahmed Chowdhury said in his speech that 15 August is the day of national
mourning even the day when the sky, air and nature of Bengal are in tears. Because on this day of 1975, August and
Shravan were united in the flood of Bangabandhu's blood and tears in the sky. The chief guest further said- Bangabandhu
was a simple man. Bangabandhu could be killed, but his ideology could not be killed, so we should all turn grief into
strength. Managing Director & CEO enlightened on the tragic assassination of Bangabandhu and the hidden agenda of
emancipating the entire Bangali Nation through it. Attempts were made to erase the history of Bengali heroism. But even
after all this; Bangabandhu is still immortal in the hearts of Bengal and Bengali nations. The worst massacre in history took
place on this night in 1975. On this day, the whole Bengali nation was tarnished by some misguided members of the army.
On this day the assassins could kill Bangabandhu but could not kill his dream. In the light of Bangabandhu's dream and
ideology, the country is moving forward with irresistible progress under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina.
Finally, on the occasion of 15th August, National Mourning Day was observed by organizing a tree planting program in the
bank's own yard.
