Bandhan inaugurates mobile app as blood donor finder

BM Desk:

The voluntary blood donor organization ‘Bandhan’ launched a mobile app on a digital platform to find blood donors quickly. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Maqsood Kamal inaugurated this app as the chief guest at a function organized on the occasion of the organization’s 26th anniversary at the RC Majumdar Arts Auditorium on Thursday.

Bandhan and Bandhan Foundation jointly developed this app named ‘Bandhan App’. President of Bandhan Foundation Raqib Ahmed presided over the program as the general secretary of the Dhaka University Teachers Association, Prof. Zeenat Huda, and President of Bandhan Central Council Fahim Hossain spoke as special guests. Bandhan Central Council General Secretary Al Amin Ali conducted the program.

Vice-Chancellor Professor ASM Maqsood Kamal said that those who do not think about their own lives in the service of humanity and work for the benefit of others are great people. Bandhan members have been serving humanity with great reputation for a long time through voluntary blood donation programs.

This organization teaches the young generation and the youth to work in the service of humanity and the welfare of others by facing any adversity. A new level of connection between blood donors and recipients has been added today through the ‘Bandhan App’.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that Bandhan’s noble work will expand further and that Bandhan workers will contribute more to human service.

After the launch of the app, a cake was cut and a rally was taken from the lecture theater building to the campus under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor on the occasion of the foundation anniversary of the organization.

It should be noted that the blood recipient and blood donor can be associated with this service by installing the ‘Bandhan App’ and registering. By inputting the name of the hospital where the patient is located and detailed information in the digital demand form, this app will find the necessary blood donor from any part of the country.

As a result, the blood will be mixed quickly. In the initial stage, the information of about 60 thousand blood donors from all over the country has been given in this app, which will be increased later. Any donor can add or remove his name from the list of blood donors at his convenience. The technical partner of the app is a company named ‘Styles-world’.

‘Bandhan’ established at Dhaka University has been working in the service of humanity since 1997 through voluntary blood donation from 78 educational institutions in 54 districts of the country.
