Empowering women entrepreneurs can change economic situation—MY HC in BMCCI seminar

BM Desk:

Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Haznah Hashim, said that the unique challenges that women face in the business world should be addressed by empowering women entrepreneurs to promote gender equality and drive economic growth.

The Malaysian envoy mentioned that her country believes in women’s empowerment and ensures women’s inclusion in Malaysia’s digital economy.

She expressed this in the BMCCI Women Forum’s seminar entitled “SheMeans Business: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs in the Digital Economy,” held at a city hotel on Wednesday.

The HC also said “the existing good relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia will be deeper and more fruitful through business communications as Bangladesh shows strong resilience towards women while ensuring the participation of women in every stratum of Bangladesh’s society and economy.”

The panel discussion was moderated by BMCCI President Syed Almas Kabir. The designated panelists were Nadia Binte Amin, President, Women Entrepreneurs Network for Development Association (WEND), Naznin Nahar, President, e-CAB Women’s Forum, Syeda Lutfunnahar, Director, Women in e-Commerce Trust (WE), Khadija Mariam, Head of Women Entrepreneur Cell, BRAC Bank, and Tara. The panelists discussed the experiences of women in facing challenges in the business field and the ways of overcoming them.

Selima Ahmad, President of the Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, thanked the BMCCI Women’s Forum for organizing this program, which she believed would provide support and resources to women entrepreneurs to help them succeed in doing business in Bangladesh and Malaysia.

BMCCI President Almas Kabir said that women entrepreneurs face unique challenges in the business world, including limited access to funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities. BMCCI Women’s Forum aims to provide confidence to women entrepreneurs in these areas.

After the discussion, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between BMCCI and the Women Entrepreneurs Network for Development Association (WEND), the e-CAB Women’s Forum (EWF), and the Women in e-Commerce Trust (WE).
