The overall price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock market, increased during the concluding week of 23–27 November. According to the DSE’s weekly market review, the P/E ratio rose by 2 percent over the week.
Data shows that the P/E ratio stood at 8.70 points at the beginning of the week. By the end of the week, it had climbed to 8.95 points. This means the DSE’s P/E ratio gained 0.15 points or 2 percent within the span of a week.
Market analysts say the rise in the P/E ratio indicates increased investor confidence and improving valuation levels across listed companies.
