In the last one month, foreign exchange reserves have increased to 24 crore 2 lakh 10 thousand dollars. On Thursday (October 24), the central bank released such information.
According to BPM-6 method of International Monetary Fund (IMF), the amount of foreign exchange reserves currently stands at 1,980,782,000 dollars. A month ago on September 25, the amount of reserves was 1 thousand 956 crore 75 lakh 50 thousand dollars.
Apart from this, Bangladesh Bank’s own total reserves including various funds formed in foreign currency have increased to 2,530,300,000 dollars. A month ago, total reserves were 2,467,848,000 dollars. That is, the total reserve has increased by 62 million 18 million dollars within a month.
Bangladesh Bank says that reserves are increasing due to prevention of erosion of reserves. However, net usable reserves are below $14 billion.
